The Soundmaster EliteLine HORST (TVL24SW) is a personal, wireless TV speaker specifically designed to make dialogue and voices much clearer when watching television. It's ideal when speech on TV is too quiet or drowned out by effects/music.

Connections & connection to the TV

The base station is placed near the TV. Several options are available for connecting to the television:

• 3.5 mm Audio (AUX/Line) (Line cable included)

Important note: When using HDMI or optical cable , the TV's digital audio output must be set to PCM – otherwise, there may be no sound or only noise.

Bluetooth

HORST can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker (device name: "HORST" ). The range is up to approximately 8 meters (depending on the environment/obstacles). Bluetooth can be deactivated by switching to TV mode.

What is HORST intended for?

For significantly improved speech intelligibility when watching television. Dialogues are emphasized, distracting background noise is reduced.

Is HORST a soundbar?

No. HORST is a personal TV speaker designed for use close to the seating area (focus on speech/dialogue). It is not intended as a replacement for a traditional soundbar surround sound system.

How do I connect HORST to the TV?

The base station can be connected via HDMI-ARC , optical (Toslink) , or 3.5 mm . HDMI or optical connection is recommended for best quality. The device automatically selects HDMI when cables are connected.

Why am I not getting any sound via HDMI/optical?

Please set the digital audio output to PCM in the TV menu (otherwise no sound or noise is possible).

Can I place the speaker in front of me or behind me?

Yes. If the speaker is located behind the seat, the channel assignment can be adjusted by swapping the L/R channels .

Is there a dialogue enhancement feature?

Yes, the "Clear Language" function can be activated in 2 stages .

Does HORST have a 3D sound mode?

Yes, a switchable 3D sound effect is available.

How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?

Approximately 18 hours of playback time at medium volume. Initial charge takes at least 4 hours . Charging is possible via the base station or directly via USB-C on the speaker.

Does HORST switch off automatically?

Yes. To save energy, the base and speaker go into standby mode after approximately 15 minutes without an audio signal. After the automatic shutdown, turn the speaker completely off using the volume control and then back on again.

Is there a headphone jack?

Yes. When headphones are plugged in, the sound from the speaker is muted. The dialogue function can still be used.

Can I also use HORST via Bluetooth?

Yes, it functions as a Bluetooth speaker (name: "HORST" ), with a range of up to approximately 8 meters (depending on the environment). Bluetooth can be deactivated by switching to TV mode.

Which cables are included in the package?
